Medical Clinic
A team of doctors, nurses and nurse practitioners provide complete medical care for individuals and families living in our catchment area.  If you do not have OHIP or extended health coverage, please contact our office for information on accessing medical services.  If you have OHIP and would like further information on becoming a client, please call 820-2001. Our hours of service are as follows:

Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday          
8:30 a.m. - 8:30 p.m.

Thursday, Friday
8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Walk-In Clinic
Existing clients of our medical clinic can use our walk-in clinic without an appointment on weekday afternoons. A nurse practitioner sees clients who require immediate care. Physicians are consulted for cases requiring service beyond the scope of the nurse practitioner. Call our medical clinic for more information.

After Hours Care
Existing clients who have medical problems when the centre is closed can call 239-4390 to receive medical advice. The doctors who work at community health centres work together to provide after hours service to existing clients with urgent medical concerns.

What Will the Doctor Do?
The doctor will listen to your concerns and give you advice. If the doctor feels that you need to be seen right away, he/she will arrange to meet you at a central office. Or, the doctor may give you advice over the telephone. You may also be advised to call Pinecrest-Queensway the next business day to make an appointment.

Extended Hours & Home Visits
For your convenience, our medical clinic is open Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. Home visits are provided to clients of our medical clinic who are house-bound. Call for more information.

Anonymous HIV Testing/Needle Exchange
Our medical clinic offers anonymous HIV testing and needle exchange program weekdays between the hours of 1 p.m and 4 p.m.

Chiropody
Existing clients of our medical clinic in need of specialized foot care can be referred to our chiropodist. Our chiropodist is at the medical clinic one day a week and sees clients by appointment only.

Cultural Interpretation
For clients who do not speak English or French, Pinecrest-Queensway's medical clinic can arrange to have a cultural interpreter attend the client's appointment.

Diabetes Education Program
Residents of Ottawa with Type II Diabetes can participate in our group education sessions facilitated by nurses, nurse practitioners and dietitians. Discussions focus on nutrition, foot care, sugar control and lifestyle changes. 

Flu Clinic
Individuals with chronic health problems and seniors can receive free anti-flu and anti-pneumonia vaccinations at Pinecrest-Queensway October through December. Dates will be posted in mid-September. 

Helping Paw Teen Clinic
Located at Woodroffe High School, this community clinic for teens offers various medical and social services. Staffed by nurses, doctors, addiction counsellors, and a psychologist, this free clinic operates throughout the school year. Call Woodroffe High School at 820-7186 for more information.

Nutrition Counselling
Learn about health eating through individual and group counselling. Existing medical clients of Pinecrest-Queensway can request a referral to this service through their nurse, nurse practitioner or physician.

Smoking Cessation
Looking for ways to decrease or stop your smoking habits?  For more information please call ext 820-4925 ext. 409.
